Applied Energy Technology Corporation recognized by the CAD/PAD Joint Program Office for delivering a critical airborne safety solution at an unprecedented pace.
Applied Energy Technology Corporation (AETC) has been honored with the JP40 Award on behalf of the CAD/PAD Joint Program Office. The award was presented by CAPT Robert “McD” McMillan of the Airborne Electronic Attack Systems Program (PMA-234), recognizing the combined government and industry team’s work in resolving an unforeseen HERO (Hazards of Electromagnetic Radiation to Ordnance) hazard on the EA-18G Growler aircraft.
When the hazard was identified, the team moved fast. Drawing on a proven strategy from a prior development effort and deep subject matter expertise, they took a solution from concept to operational deployment in just over one year, an achievement described as unprecedented in the history of CAD/PAD development. The resulting capability will benefit not only the EA-18G, but also emerging technology and future programs for both the U.S. Navy and its Australian partners.
Lessons learned from this effort have been recognized by NAVAIR and NAVSEA leadership as a model for future development, and AETC’s expertise and customer support have been noted as internationally recognized within the CAD/PAD community.
